If you missed the launch of Morningstar Arts Creative Project S.M.A.R.T (Studio’s Making Art and Reproduction Textiles) Virtual Open Studio in December of 2020, you can find out about what we’ve been making in our monthly virtual open studio sessions lead by the Frank Callens Boys and Girls Club at the Mstar Arts Creative You Tube Page. We will be wrapping up our 2021 Winter I and Spring Program on May19, 2021 starting at 4:00pm EST. The Project S.M.A.R.T Facilitators will conclude with the final steps, details and decorative pieces for the art and reproduction textile inspired by the Abomey Appliqué for our final Project S.M.A.R.T Virtual Open Studio.
Beginning in June, we have not yet announced our launch date, we will have Project S.M.A.R.T Kits to go with a series of Mstar Art Creative Project S.M.A.R.T Challenges that will last through July2021. The challenges will be self paced and will include the option to purchase or gather your own materials or purchase a Project S.M.A.R.T Kit from Mstar Arts Creative. Kits will range from $15-$25 including shipping. Instructions will come with the kit and a reference and link to a pre-recorded video or a virtual open studio in which a technique that is included in the challenge was used. Project S.M.A.R.T Kits will be available based on material availability.
You can catch us again in the Fall and for Winter I starting in October 2021. We will have a hybrid program. So if you are able to attend at one of the locations we have activities, we will also be live streaming to other locations that would like to participate.
